54. Oh My God
60updates bonus hike:
From the OMG gate, take the fence road east about 2 miles to a drainage.
Follow it downstream about a quarter-mile. Fort Red Dog is a distinct
reddish-orange formation on the rim. You'll know it when you see it.
There's a cave (tunnel, actually) in an alcove about 200 yards SW of Red Dog.
You might need these coordinates to find it:
N35° 11' 34"
W107° 03' 16"

Roads to the OMG and Herrera Mesa:
Rio Puerco Road usually has sections of heavy washboarding.
T56 gets more maintenance. The OMG gate is 14.5 miles from
Exit 140; 16 miles from Exit 131.
March 2016 - Hikers' Report:
Rio Puerco Road to Oh My God is washed out at 11.5 miles ...
An alternate path jogs around the washout (not pictured), but is
deeply sanded and risky without four-wheel drive. After getting our
truck stuck in sand on the alternate path we aborted mission and
headed back the way we came. ...
