40. Cabezon Peak
New Mexico's centennial stamp, released in January 2012,
features a view of Cerro de Santa Clara and Cerro de
Guadalupe, the volcanic necks rising from the banks of the
Rio Puerco about 3.5 miles southwest of Cabezon Peak.
The ascent to the peak is marked with arrows
and cairns. However, a couple of critical spots
near the top are not clearly indicated.
